They build their character and the personality. 3 main idea important kpe implications: dualism: separate/prioritize mind over body descartes, materialism: reduced to material (physics) hobbes, holism: rousseau. Physical slave to mental, cognition must precede all action, knowing of superior to knowing how. The knowing of and not knowing how. Cartesian perspective: di cult to justify human movement as educational experience.
