Movement pattern (learner is performing the proper movement pattern) Attention (paying attention to relevant cues only) Error detection and correction (learner can detect and correct their own movements, they don"t need someone else to tell them what to do) Freeing means you"re allocating degrees of freedom in your joints: increases luidity of movements, allowing all the joints to do the proper movement. Freezing means you"re reducing your degrees of freedom in a particular joint. Skilled performers direct need to attend consciously to each aspect of the movement decreases. Learner can focus on other factors of performance attention to relevant areas. Beginners have diiculty discriminating between relevant and irrelevant cues. Must be staring at something for 100ms for attention to kick in. Accomplished performers have more knowledge about a skill. The more you do something, the more knowledgeable you become. Types of knowledge: declarative rules, procedural what to do in a given situation.
