Talked about how greatness has to be consistent, not just on the field but also in real everyday life. Told the players that they were free to choose glory free to choose to be great and successful. Had the team take responsibility for what had happened instead of blaming others for their failures. Told the team that winning medals and looking for redemption was a toxic goal. Proper goal: feel fulfilled no matter what, inspire the next generation. I wish my coach was a little clearer with me. I wish i knew where i stood with her. I wish she believed in me more i wish the communication between us was better and more open : gap in communication and philosophy between coach and athlete. It"s not just one way, it"s constantly changing. Sending something through communication (stimulus) -> receiving (encoding) -> interpreting what someone is trying to communicate (decoding)
