Our team is united in trying to achieve its performance goals. Our team would like to spend more time together. Task group goals (individual perception of what the goals should be) I am happy with my teams level of desire to win. For me, this team is one of the most important social groups to which i belong. The nature of the situation is related to cohesion. Work out put: social loafing, sacrifice behavior. Examples: team performance, team stability, group goals, roles. Carron, colman, wheeler, and stevens conducted a meta-analysis of 47 studies that had examined cohesion and performance in sport teams. Overall the cohesion-performance relationship is moderate and significant. Does social cohesion have a stronger relationship to performance. Is the cohesion performance relationship in male sports. Is the cohesion performance relationship stronger in female sports. Enjoyment eg. goal can take away form enjoyment of the game. Difficult to get friends to focus and commit.
