Trying to mask anxiety-producing sounds in the environment. Stressful environment ex: sounds in the hospital like machines beeping or children screaming. Might be working with children before they"re going in before operation. Might be able to incorporate a little bit of education/teaching in song that gives info about what they"re going to experience in the surgery. Can bring sense of familiarity and warmth and normalcy into medical setting. Reestablishing control over environment by bringing in chosen music. Ex life in hospital or adjusting to illness, making adjustments within family unit (who does what when, adjusting to environment itself) Provide normalizing activities (with peers, others, in environment)
