Canada"s oil sands, located primarily in alberta, represent one-third of the worlds known petroleum resources: the oil sands are huge economic contribution to canada"s economy, 514,000 employed access canada. There is a lot of conflict with tar sands in canada. We just develop it in a way that is culturally sensitive and good for the environment: not a black and white issue people in western canada need jobs, but there are large environmental issues. How does power play into the oil sands politics? a: increase because of international demand, use of taxes for health care, etc. But it may be difficult to see who has power!
