After gaining independence tanzania"s took in the idea of socialism. Many africans remained in tribal form during colonial rule. The hope was to create and unify tanzania. The goal was to move all multi national ideologies into one harmonic state. One of the most stable countries in africa today. Evaluate the pros and cons of tanzania"s early strategies of socialist development. Concepts of african socialism that are discussed in the arusha declaration economic self-reliance, communal and rural development and single party democracy. Wanted to nationalize all banks, and more. Declaration was made for the economic development and path for tanzania. Negatively impacted the livelihoods of the rural population.
