Something is right or wrong if and only if it conforms to god"s commands. In plato"s dialoge euthyphro, socrates asks euthyphro: is the pious loved by the gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is loved by the gods? . God loves the good because they are good. The thing"s goodness is independent of god. God"s love makes that thing good god can change the good. God"s nature is the good essential part of god to be good he does not will the bad. If he says it is good, it is good. If such independent value exists, then it does not depend on god. If the good is independent of god, then god is not all powerful. Interpretation of sacred texts are often a matter of conflict.
