Not causing one to lose contact with reality or to violate important social norms. Severe psychological disorder, sometimes requiring hospitalization. Typically lose contact with reality, suffer delusions and/or hallucinations. Seriously impaired ability to function in everyday life. Negative emotions and physical tension/anticipation of danger - - - - > distress and interfere with functioning. Feeling that something bad is about to happen. Expensive ad on overall sense of dread. Headaches, gastrointestinal distress, muscle tension. Excessive non- specific anxiety and worry for > 6 months. Some people report that a panic attack feels like a heart attack. Repeated panic attacks + ongoing fear of future attacks. Social: fear of interacting with others, avoid social situations. Agoraphobia: fear of open places or being in a situation from which escape is difficult or impossible.
