Document Summary

Developing a sense of whether they like and trust the other person. Even negative emotions make an impact on social functions by talking about these emotions, they become happier. James lange- a theory proposing that felt emotions result from physiological changes, rather than being their cause. He suggests that emotion begins with (1) the perception of an environmental situation or event, followed by (2) the elicitation of physiological and behavioural changes, which are then (3) processed by the cortex and converted into felt emotion. Cannon-bard theory- a theory proposing that the subjective experience of emotion and the activation of the sympathetic nervous system (that is, bodily arousal) occur simultaneously. He disputed the accuracy into 5 different points. 1) total separation of the visceral organs from the central nervous system does not alter emotional behaviour. Discovered this on cats and dogs as vasomotor centres had been disconnected from their nervous system, but they continued to show aggression and other emotions.
