Moivaion determines simuli that evoke emoions increase salience, promote acion. Moivaion: all of the processes that iniiate, direct, and sustain behaviour: moives are needs or desires that direct or energize our behaviour. Maslow"s hierarchy of needs: when moives are internal they push us to act cell these drives. Example: being hungry; push us to grab food: when moives are external (or outside of us) we call them incenives they pull or enice us to act. Example: someone pushes you to contemplate whether you should go with. Emoion: subjecive feelings internal wants, rather than external. Primary drive (internal drive: hunger, thirst, stem from unlearned moives to saisfy biological needs. Secondary drives (external drives: need for achievement, need to ailiaion, need understanding, develop through learning and experience. Need drive drive-reducing behaviour homeostasis (out needs are met) set points. Homeostasis: stable internal equilibrium, temperature control, relexive, involuntary, supplement, voluntary behaviours. How does homeostasis work: autonomic nervous system.
