Document Summary

It is found that overt prejudice and racism is in decline. Yet the subtle forms of racism and prejudice mait is found that overt prejudice and racism is in decline. Yet the subtle forms of racism and prejudice may still and truly be there. People can believe that they act in an egalitarian way but in reality they are not. There seems to be prejudice without knowing there is prejudice, implicit bias towards certain groups is possible, ex of black people and criminals or arabs and danger. Gender role prejudice, there is the role of modern sexism. Stereotypes are beliefs while prejudice is an attitude. Ambivalent with the hostile sexism and benevolent sexism. Hostile is upfront, while benevolent is hidden under a blanket. Gender bias is similarly undergoing a period where the overt bias is going away while the implicit and subtle bias is still very much alive.
