However, homicide and violence is a growing issue and unfortunately many of these social issues are happening without being acknowledged or resolved. Frank alexander was a navy veteran, who had returned from war and started a successful dry cleaning business with his wife in winnipeg. Over the next few years, frank was diagnosed with alzheimer"s disease. His wife, lena alexander was unable to take care of him, and had no other choice but to place him a nursing home, parkview place, where she believed he would be safe. In march 2011, an incident occurred in a long term home care leading a senior to his death. Joanne the daughter of frank who was put in an elderly home received a phone call urging her to rush to a hospital.
