People are social actors who manage their identities to create desired impressions from their audience (like actors) Social interactions are similar to being in a play. Defined role ex: professor in the front stage. Defined role student in the backstage. Backstage is like a temporary break from being in the frontstage. Social structure that subordinates females to male domination (examined in micro, macro, and global structure) Feminists distinguish between gender and biological sex. Male determination is defined by social structure. Feminist doesn"t want females to dominate males.
