Focus on micro level interactions between individuals. Social reality is constructed through the daily interactions of individuals. People don"t just react to social circumstances; they actively create subjective meanings. Treat peoples as if people have roles and act in the role. Women are more influenced by images of female subordination and as a result, women are unconsciously reproduce these subordinate behaviours in their daily lives. People are social actors who manage their identities to create desired impressions from their audience (like actors) Social interactions are similar to being in a play. Defined role ex: professor in the front stage. Defined role student in the backstage. Backstage is like a temporary break from being in the frontstage. Social structure that subordinates females to male domination (examined in micro, macro, and global structure) Feminists distinguish between gender and biological sex. Male determination is defined by social structure. Feminist doesn"t want females to dominate males.
