Sy 101 - d: lecture: wednesday, september 13th. Don"t read for more than 80 minutes, take breaks. Goal setting, most important part of time management. Get into the habit of setting goals and reviewing goals. Term schedule, plan ahead, plan time, not scrambling, major events and academic dates. Weekly schedule, schedule in more detail, include readings and study hours, include small chunks of day, schedule work for daylight hours, mental peak, be specific about time on the task. Make note of little time slots and make breaks. Create flexibility, and give yourself time, keep record of time it takes to complete tasks, record distractions. Can"t get motivated, procrastination, develop a reward system to motivate yourself, size of reward proportionate to size of task. Track how often you get distracted to minimize distractions, consciously redirect thoughts. Find a good study space with less distractions, have all materials needed. Takes time to develop new habits, essential life skill.
