Question 1: i personally believe that climate change is such a prominent yet overlooked issue in our society and era today that the tax is justified. Though being looked at as a punishment, (which in a sense, i guess it is) it is more so a deterrent. We have done so much irreplaceable damage to our earth that there are serious speculations of just how much shorter-not longer- the lifespan of future generations will be. Though there are valid and notable points of cost that come with this movement", there is a price for everything. Besides, it is not as if the earth began to die on its own, we did this to ourselves. We cannot rely on the young minds of next generation(s) to get out of a hole we put them into. Question 2: this appears to be a battle of equity versus equality. The difference between leveling the playing field and giving everybody a field to play.
