Slavery was practiced in this country, and stole the land of indigenous people, put them in residential schools, they felt worthless because their lifestyle was taken away from them (last residential school closed in the late 1990s) Ruling of the court was strict and the government has denied the rights for indigenous people in this country (access to the education system, healthcare, access to food and shelter, etc) Government has done nothing to help indigenous people feel included in this society.
