Colonization isn"t about just having more land, its always about the extraction of minerals and other resources from the land for the benefit of that more important status. Many indigenous people thought these men coming over seas were crazy. Women saw it that we had to find ways of taking care of each other and teach the men for their own survival. They approached these white explorers and taught them how to honour an animal they kill. Women indigenous people were seen as the white mans way of living into the new country (turned into relationships) Britain and france wanted to plant roots and get rid of all indigenous affiliation. Said children born from the mixed relationships could have no status. Indigenous women were originally called queens but after this were called squaws White women then began getting sent over seas. Men wanted strong women who could survive land and childbirth.
