Business leaders now recognize that society, the economy & the environment are interrelated systems that have an important impact on one another. Its size and low costs strategy have tended to wipe out smaller competitors, who compete with walmart in this industry. Jit allows them to ship any needed inventory directly to the stores while reducing expensive storage/warehousing costs. Global suppliers i. e. importing cheap goods from different countries. This allowed them to buy the lowest priced goods and therefore offer lower priced goods to consumers. Where countries" governments permit walmart to enter, walmart gains from starting new location. In canada, after our trade agreement with the us (nafta), walmart was most welcomed here. Walmart grew globally as trade agreements grew between the us and other countries.
