Compulsory & collective liability for employers, with some recognition of risk in the amount of contribution paid by individual employers. Workers to be compensated regardless of the financial condition of the employer. Compensation is based on loss of earnings: not all injured employees will get the same amount of money (85% of their net salary) System is no fault: if ppe is not on & they get injured they are covered under workers" compensation. No legal recourse: employees can"t sue employers. Administered by boards whose members are appointed by the lieutenant governor in each province. Determine who is classified as a worker, a subcontractor or employer.
