Humans have started to relate to animals as resources. This changing relationship can be called a different kind of human manipulation. Dolly is the first every fully cloned animal: sheep. Successfully grown from the taking of cells from one animal to make another. 1997: became a huge deal, huge step forward in cloning techniques. Became an interest and a point of controversy. Controversy: the concern was about the implications of this step forward. Mass produced humans sets off a whole range of fears, sets of a range of fears about the direction of humanity etc. Aldous huxley"s brave new world (1931) : wrote the doors of perception. Dangers of extreme genetic engineering and manipulation. Some people are cloned into existence to fulfill certain occupations. People are regulated and controlled by people, people can no longer situate themselves in this society cause they don"t know where they came from.
