Document Summary
Light can be a source of energy and information. Ex. of an organism that uses light as both energy and information is the green alga. Variable wavelength (distance between 2 peaks) and energy: typically measured in namometers (10-9 m, wavelength and energy inversely related, electric waves perpendicular to the electromagnetic waves causes the spectrum. The visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum that humans can detect with their eyes. Most commonly defined as the portion of the electromagnet spectrum that humans can detect with their eyes. Some experiments showed that light acts as a wave as it travels through space. More experiments explain that light is composed of a stream of energy particles called photons. The relationship between the wavelength of light and the energy of the photons it carries is an inverse one: longer the wavelength, lower the energy of the photon contains and vice versa. Photons have a very specific energy in them but do not say anything.
