Document Summary

Baroreceptors are same location as chemoreceptors but different nerves. Stretch decrease sympathetic & increase parasympathetic to dilate & decrease tpr. At elevated map, contractility decreased & hr slow. Low map, contractility increase & hr fast. What is hemorrhage- open wound, ruptured blood vessel, deficiency in blood clotting. Cardiac output is increases a little by increase heart rate above normal, however sv cannot be brought to normal. So cardiac output is not at normal levels. Vasovagal: causes heart rate & bp to drop suddenly when stressed, over heated, nervous. Signals coming to cv shut off sns & overstimulate pns (vagus) to decrease map even more. Drop in bp & blood supply to brain. When you stand venous return decreases & map drops. Leads to dehydration, due to low graity, parkinson"s. Exercise increase cardiac output, decrease resistance to dilate, increase sbp, diastolic remains same, increase in skeletal muscle blood flow. Baroreceptors don"t respond to prolonged changes in map.
