A human pathogen is a biological nature that is harmful to humans. Section 3 of the hpta defines the following human pathogen risk groups as: Risk group 1 no or low individual and community risk: a microorganism that is unlikely to cause human or animal disease. Risk group 3 category of human pathogens that pose a high risk to the health of individuals and a low risk to public health and includes the human pathogens listed in. Schedule 3: likely to cause serious disease in a human, effective treatment and preventive measures are not usually available and the risk of spread of disease caused by those pathogens is low.
