Document Summary

Macrophage, the trojan horse for hiv, the aids virus. Macrophages send the information about the pathogens to the helper t-cells. But they"re not destroyed by viruses like helper t- cells, macrophages have receptors similar to those on the helper t-cells so they can enter the cells in a specific way. When the virus enters the cells, it"s going to deposit its genetic material in the genome of the macrophages. So the virus is going ot make a copy of its rna to dna and the dna is going to be integrated into the genome of the macrophages. And now they"re infected for as long as they"re around. Macrophages are usually infected when they"re monocytes, which are eventually going to start to go to different parts of the body : to the brain, the liver, under the sin, everywhere. If they"re infected with hiv, hiv is going to go with them.
