Liberal pluralism (dominant ideology) & elite theory (critique of liberal pluralism) Stresses the importance of private property and individualism; freedom from restraint. Based on mythological thinking from the 18th century. You can build a society based solely on reason. Society is composed from competing interest groups; these differences get negotiated in the political arena.
