Nice weather makes studying easier, yet more challenging because we want to be outdoors. I want to go back through the big ideas of the unit, connect them nicely and lead us into where we"re going. Goal: explore the relationship between media, cult and society. Try and build your vocabulary, unpack media, understand ways media help us to see and understand social relations and at the same time unpack them. I get to talk about a bunch of topics, however just a little on each. There is a lot in this unit - so many big ideas. If you took a 4th-year course, we would spend a month or an entire year on semiotics. In this class we had 1 kind-of lecture, then we did it right away. The world we"re engaging with is different than before. You already know everything that"s on this slide.
