Prior to feminist works, gender crimes (sexual assault, wife abuse, etc. ) were trivialized. Gender discrimination went unchallenged (exclusion of female jurors, sentencing by gender ) Valuable feminist work exists on the problem of women"s victimization. The naming of the types and dimensions of female victimization had a significant effect on public policy, and was arguably the most tangible accomplishment for feminist and grassroots theorists.
