Responsible for every single person call from that shift. Anything that falls under the category of people crime. Manage crime scene, interview witness, suspect, ensure that judicial authorization is met: search warrants. Change in police practices in the post-9/11 era: public concerns on infringements on freedom. We see an increase in due process procedure. Mandate laid out for police procedures: there are policies and procedures that frame discretion. Some things that must be considered and that they are dictated by is case law: similar rulings that have taken place in court.
