Document Summary

Binary logic of representation: binary opposites (dominant vs. subordinate term) When we socially construct law and crime, they are intertwined. In every image of crime, there is a shadow image of law. The picture of the dog that represents the male police officer and the cat that represents the female burglar can depict the binary and mutual constitution between crime and law through. This image represents the mutual and binary constitution of the criminal and the law enforcer as represented by the difference between the cat and the dog. The french bull dog represents the law enforcer made evident by the police uniform that is being worn. And the association between dogs and police has been established by police normally hiring canine teams. As the law enforcers, the dog represents the positive connotations about law enforcement: you can talk about light, freedom, and good, and masculinity.
