Document Summary

Desn 1010: methods to achieve balance in your work. Ways to achieve balance in your design work: colours, shapes, lines, and, sizes. Each principle can be further modified/manipulated to help create variances in the work: colour. Colours with lots of black in them (shaded) are usually considered heavier for the sake of design. Colours with lots of white in them (tinted) are usually lighter. Tints and shades can still create balance. For example: sky blue is light vs. navy blue is dark. It"s the same colour really (blue) but the tint (sky blue) is lighter than the shade (navy blue) If we are comparing sky blue to baby blue, then baby blue is the lighter colour no matter how light sky blue is, it"s still darker than baby blue making the sky blue the heavy colour in this case. Also effected by how much space that colour covers.
