Pragmatic system: the social use of language in a culture, taking into consideration adapting language to the audience and the social context. Semantic system: the meaning system of language, understanding words and word parts, words have multiple meanings that can only be derived within the context of the sentence, ex: witch vs. which. Administered during early stages of literacy development, before they become proficient silent readers.
