Document Summary

Trivia: table tennis: original name of the game was gossima. They have vintage in the mist of time. Note: must not confuse topic with theme. Midsummer night"s dream is about love, that is not a theme but a topic. The job of the researcher is to find what the text is saying about the topic. A very good starting place in this text is something you don"t understand and something that causes you to question it. You could also pick different themes (ie: love) Moon: represents change in the renaissance mind. This is all based on an astronomical theory. Everything beneath the moon was subject to change, could not count on anything being consistent over time. This is a metaphor for the couples in this play; none of the couples stay the same even though they use a potion to change them they still change. The moon is also a symbol of chasity; faithfulness in marriage to one person.
