Accountability- being responsible: leadership starts with you, people must accept responsibilities & to disclosure results in transparent manner, you need to model behaviours that you expect to see in your organization. If you want people to take ownership then you need to take ownership. If you dont, they other people will not be willing to do so: as leader, you ae accountable for failure and success of organization. If you try to dodge events, there will be consequences accountability is about consistency. When people dont take accountability things do downhill b/c no one is willing to pick up for the mistakes. When people ae accountable, they ae more willing to step in to find a solution. Teams that are successful are full of people that are in this mode. Important to create a culture of accountability in the workplace to ensure higher performance. It is linked to increase in employee commitment to work & employees to be moral.
