Time: creates moods of suspense throughout the whole novel: point analyzing two narratological concepts of the course, thrill-seeking: taking narration of amy or nick and analyzing how their narration. Nick going downstairs and seeing his wife making paintings and nick being late for work. Those missing hours become central to the plot. They eventually become significant and our attention is drawn which creates a paralipsis. Most of the time we trust the narrator. We trust the narrator because narrators want us to trust them: seemed open: she is aware and is giving us a lot heterodiegetic episodes to let us know that she knows things. She gives lots of information about marital and financial problems nick and her have. Frustrating that we couldn"t figure out she was lying to us and it was all a lie. We went down this journey with her and then it turns out she lied to us all.
