Masculinity and femininity are not exclusive of each other: they are socially/culturally forms norms. Gender is not a performance but it is performative. Not an act that we choose on a whim everyday . Sex not only as a function bodies it controls : to identify a person, we perceive a gender that fits inside social norms. It is unclear gender relations themselves : we only consider others as people through their gender, we recognize ourselves and others as gendered and others do the same thing to themselves and to us. Consider the medical interpolation of gender: is it a baby girl or baby boy, the objectified it becomes the humanized he/she when given a gender. Female or male classification tells the child how to act for the rest of its life; what type of sex to perform; what kind of body to inhabit.
