Alexander the great: established alexandria & romans took over greece. Augustus: 63 bc - 14 ad - roman emperor (came to a city of brick & left it a city of marbles) Virgil: poet - 1700-1750 (augustan age in rome) - wrote the aeneid. Virgil theory: at end of troy battle some escaped through tunnel & ended up in rome. Ovid: 40 bc - 17 ad (aka jesus was 17 when ovid died) - wrote at time of augustus. Education: father wanted him to be a lawyer - he studied law & rhetoric (how to speak)
