Exam is on thursday april 14th 2-5pm in acw rm. 5+6. Passage identification/ analysis (on any literary work) 6 passages, 5 pts. each, total of 30 pts. Both literature and theory, 2 scholarly works and 2 literatures, 1 audio visual first half till garber, second half after garber. Mini thesis statements as topic sentences for sub-arguments. Sub-arguments need to build on and relate to previous ones. Dispersed or scattered population across an area outside of an ancestral location of origin, often tied to ethnicity can be a result of voluntary and/or involuntary migration (used more in reference to involuntary) May include feelings of connection with other diasporic populations from the same group, communities that. Nationalism: investment of great significance in a shared geographic region, country, and/or demographic region or identity. Transnationalism: a challenge to nationalism, movement of people, money, cultural artifacts/practices, ideas, and meaning across traditionally defined nation boundaries (does not have the same implication of involuntary migration as diaspora)
