Document Summary
Binder, c. r. , hinkel, j. , bots, p. w. , & pahl-wostl, c. (2013). The main claim of this reading is to look at the frameworks used in to solving complex problems in ecological and social systems. There are three main criteria"s when choosing a frame work. The first one is to hypothesize the relationship between social and ecological system as uni or bidirectional. The second one is to see whether it is an anthropocentric or eccentric perspective. Lastly you must look at whether it is action oriented or analysis oriented framework. An example of a framework would be the sustainable livelihood approach (sla). This approach is a way of thinking about the objectives, and priorities for developing activities. It is based on thinking about the way people live their lives and the importance of the policies and institutions.
