Document Summary

Epistemology: the theory of knowledge, is fundamental to any learning. To know means that a person accepts a true proposition to be right or correct for the best of reasons . There is a di erence between opinion and knowledge. Knowledge we have as adults is ltered by di erent institutions such as media. What we know about children comes from direct experience. We also have knowledge through reason (learn, read)- reason through di erent interpretations. Often we confuse reality vs appearance (theres reality of child and appearance of child). The appearance of bottle makes us think we are actually seeing it. Appearance guides us in thinking we know what we are looking at. We are moved by appearances (relates to children). We default into what we think we know. Research is required and a commitment to knowledge. we also need courage to admit that we are clueless and to comprehend contradictions.
