As a society we are in need of more research dealing with young people. The study represents children living all over the world. The ideas are given in a simple language. Young people participated, reflected, critiqued studies done by other organizations on violence against children. Bring examples and relate to ideas in the reading and note what to do to prevent. When speaking of child abuse speak of uncrc like article 19 on abuse. Uncrc: provision, protection, participation are the 3 pillars. This reading speaks of the pillar of protection. Educate those that take care of children. We haven"t spoken of interlocking inequality and oppressions like age, gender, race, sexuality all playing significant roles. These are all intersecting and imbricating to provide greater degrees of oppression for children. People argue that due to these, children create a 3rd space for themselves. They don"t belong in society but are in it as they negotiate identity and navigate institutions.
