Youth criminal justice act, etc. to understand these acts you have to get the history. Child and family services act deals with the definition of a child. We have legal documents in ontario, canada that deal with the definition of what constitutes a child. It"s a big deal when it comes to law and how we deal with the consequences of being a child in terms of duties and responsibilities. Children as rights is a very recent phenomenon. Animals were treated better because children were not people. Children as property, people, and right (3 paradigms or models). Children as people and as rights is recent! Children and youth has been a subject of controversy. How do we provide values, socialize them, etc. We look at qualities of youth imposed upon them.
