The oresteia: agamemnon murder of agamemnon and cassandra, its really easy to see clytemnestra"s position. We see her as a mother who has been injured: the libation bearers orestes kills clytemnestra in revenge, now we see clytemnestra as the villain, the furies orestes faces trial for his actions. The stage: the actors on stage are all men, wearing masks. Orestes: has went to the oracle of apollo at delphi to seek puri cation. Clytemnestra rouses the furies: she comes back as a ghost/dream/prophecy, she wakes up the furies, whips them, casts them, clytemnestra now wants revenge against orestes. It"s all she wants, like when she wanted revenge on agamemnon and killed him: there"s nothing you can do to stop this programmed vengeance. Apollo and the furies: apollo and the furies are polar opposites of each other. 3: apollo is, what the furies called, a new god.
