There is this intimate connection between greek tragedy and understanding of social life at the time going on in athens. So what we are going to see in the oresteia, is a reflection of the athenian values. Most scholars agree that the agamemnon, this specific the idea of dike- justice. If you recall the democracy in athens, we got a lot of political turmoil. Political movement going from kingship or terrene into a quality that relies on public. Oresteia, a transformation from dike, being on the hands of the person who transgressed into the idea of legal justice. So what we see the oresteia is one of the memorable stories of revenge ends with legal justice in a court scene. We see how wrongdoings are handled in this world. Whenever someone is so happy that it just comes back around into sadness into misery for other people, other generations. This isn"t necessarily the case always, what they believe.
