We have two kinds of narrative going on. The straight forward story and then we have all these small clues unexplained coincidences and echoes through the text. We are also trying to pick up on hints because there is more going on. Action has slowed we have moved away from mysterious sea monsters to real world dangers he is facing at home. Even small gestures could give someone away and be ready. We are moving from comic trickster mode to line of tragedy. We can begin to see hallmarks of genre- inescapable series of events, oen royal family stakes are high, tension inescapable. Both intentionally and unintentionally are drawn to dangerous and deadly ending. Question is who is going to be caught in trap. Is it odysseus will he be in danger or trap on suitors and other members of household. In this section odysseus is in mode of cold calm and collected always thinking one step ahead.
