Works and days trace the origins of humanity within and round mythological context. In the end of it he takes a pessimistic and existential view: but not in philosophical way. Less concerned with human explanations and more keen on having divine explanations: uses divine as explanation for human, believed philosophy harmed the gods and took away there divine power. Hesiod opens with another invocation to the muses. This time beckons them to come sing praise about zeus.
