HUMA 1160 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Omnipotence
Document Summary
Perfecions of god that deines his godliness: he is all powerful, he is imeless, he is ininite. God could lack nothing if he is ininite: he cannot desire and be ininite. If god has a plan he is not omnipotent. God must be able to think, desire, plan, understand and will things to happen or not happen. What is true of every mental atributes we possess: when we say these features of our self, it is true that each take place at some ime making them temporal. Mental anthropic requires that you believe thinking, desiring, understanding, planning etc. and other features like these cannot be associated with us and god. If you believe god is imeless and eternal, he cannot experience any mental process. You cannot believe he has a mind if he is eternal. To describe something, i. e. , the ball is red, involves an act of inclusion and exclusion.
