Summary: athens culture: a cycle of revenge. It was a noble and honourable to take revenge, if not your life is considered to have no meaning. Influence of bible character"s in athens culture: all life is believed to be created by 1 god and life is the constant struggle to overcome revenge. Love thy neighbour as yourself , in other words love your enemies (love the people you hate): enlightenment: coexistence and quality of a person"s freedom. All things good can be contradicting (persecution in the name of freedom): contradictions: law no matter how good or justified can be mere ideology that allows illegal activity, racism, international sensations, crime against humanity etc. Athens: during athens time there was decentralized authority, which consisted of citizens acting as equals allowing the athens population to flourish and survive. In this case it left the poor and less fortunate vulnerable to crimes.
