Robert walton begins telling us the story about victor frankenstein. Walton is out on a ship seeking truth about the natural world. Frankenstein is a parable for walton (he is an adventurer, explorer etc. ) First half of the book told by proxy, evidence is hear-say. Last part of the book told by frankenstein. Why is frankenstein out at the sea (arctic): the creature killed everyone frankenstein loved, frankenstein following the creature around the world trying to kill him. He is grossed out by it and leaves. He tries to learn social skills of life. He dies: goes for walk in the woods, found him and there is a marking, there was a necklace that elizabethan gave him.
