Patriarchy literally rule by the fathers refers to males in valued positions, women in subordinate positions. Patrilineal family name is passed on from the father"s side. Patrilocal woman resides with the husband"s family no longer a member of her family but of her husband"s family not a wife but a daughter in law. Sexist privileging of men and male experience. Androcentric established and developed by men from male perspectives and experience. The is a dissonance in out understanding of feminism. Women, in the past 30-40 years and previous to this century, have been working for equality in all areas of leadership, scholarship, of ritual, of recognition within all of the monotheistic religions. Within some religions, sexist religious beliefs are presented as representing. Therefore, these beliefs are used to legitimate patriarchy in society and the subordination of women in all aspects of religion from leadership to ritual participation.
